Yesterday was Sissy's Birthday

So, Sissy's birthday was yesterday. I totally meant to write a little more about her as a Birthday tribute.
A birthday card of sorts.

Sissy and I have a similar sense of humor so when we send old-fashioned birthday cards to each other... they usually make me snort-laugh which is super funny.

We also have similar taste in novels. She likes the books I give her. I've read two of her recommendations...she tends to buy mysteries for herself. One of them was super good and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

And we have similar taste in jewelry and clothes. We have so much fun shopping together. If it wasn't for Sissy, I would not have had a thing to wear to my high school reunion!
Here is Sissy presenting me with handmade bracelets! These beaded bracelets are made from some sort of fishing gear. I actually don't remember what the materials are...but once the bracelet was on, I couldn't take it off.
Sissy works hard and she plays hard. One of the cool things is that she can enjoy an afternoon swinging in the hammock as well as a Sunday afternoon with Grandparents on the front porch.

I gotta say, Sissy surprises me when she does things like catching fish. I think she actually touches them. --Me, I just like to cast. In fact, I would probably enjoy fishing as long as there is no hook on the line. Turns out Sissy is quite the fisherperson. At the weekend fishing day (above) she caught 7 fish! SEVEN!
  • You are playing Password. She is the Password Queen.
  • You are having a Holiday Dinner with all of your family coming to your house {and you don't cook.}
  • You have to go to the hospital with your man and your dog is still in the car. She and her man will come and take care of your dog.
  • You are going Zip Lining for the first time and you want her to come and be your support. She will ride in the gator with the camera and take pics and videos. She will capture your crash landing on video {and you will hear her laughing.}
    • She will loan you her visor (because you forgot yours) and she will not get mad when the hat comes off mid-air somewhere in the middle of the forest.
  • You are in a car accident. She will come and take photos of you in front of your totaled car as you cry. (This was not me.)
  • She understands when you sing to the melody of "Mad Men" and will sing with you.
  • You absolutely must have a new outfit for a fashion emergency event. She will come and take you shopping. She will talk "no-nonsense" to you and keep you on track to make sure you get what you need.
  • Things that make you laugh never get old. Like "Wine and Cheese, ding-dong" (from SNL).
The girl has many talents!

This was such a fun post - thanks for sharing the fun relationship the two of you have and letting us into her world a little bit. She sounds like a great sister.

  3. This post gave me the biggest smile! My youngest calls my oldest "sissy". There is something about the bond between sisters that is like no other.
