So, the game didn't go the Panthers' way. I know that stung for the team and players. But like I said earlier, I don't think anyone was pulling against Peyton.
I've still been thinking about Hygge. For years, I've enjoyed Hygge coziness without attributing a name. I don't want to imply that what I think of as a hygge experience is necessarily the hygge experience. And maybe that's part of it. Maybe hygge is different for everyone.
For me, hygge includes copious amounts of hot tea or coffee. I like to snuggle up on the couch with soft afghans. When my daughter was little we would snuggle on the couch and watch Disney movies. Many Saturdays were spent with The Rescuers and the Rescuers from Down Under. This was often followed by Basil the Great Mouse Detective. There is something so comforting about mouse detectives.
Those Saturdays were not remarkable, and yet I cherish the time I was able to snuggle with my girl while we both drifted in and out of sleep.
When Danielle was older, she used to declare movie night. That meant we (all three of us) were going to binge watch our favorite movies. Jordan usually stayed involved for at least the first movie. But, he can only watch You've Got Mail so many times. Danielle and I have not found our limit. It is a perfect movie. My Big Fat Greek Wedding is another good movie night staple. Any time Danielle declared movie night was my favorite night. Movie night was still something she declared even when she had her own apartment. --I miss those nights. If she still lived in the same town, I'm sure we would still have movie night.
Hygge can also include what I call parallel play. In fact, my husband and I are doing that right now. I'm happily sitting on the couch writing while cutie pie is sitting at his desk working on his computer. The point is we are together enjoying each other's presence.
I had planned on writing about a fun book I recently finished...I read it during my hygge hiatus during our snow weekend. But, now it's really late on a work night...so the book post will have to wait.
Until next time!
